Rob Shields; President
Rob has a great depth of knowledge and expertise in the Consumer Marketing field specializing in market-driven growth strategies and customer-centric organizational design; with extensive experience in strategic development and implementation of integrated marketing programs, systems and business models, as well as a core business development and marketing background.
Prior to joining Hippopost, Rob was responsible for leading Aeroplan’s commercial activities and managing all aspects of strategic growth. Prior to joining Aeroplan, Rob was Vice President of Customer Relationship Management and Chief Privacy Officer of Hudson’s Bay Company. In this capacity, Rob played a leadership role in the creation of the Hbc brand and Hbc Rewards program. Prior to joining Hudson's Bay Company, Rob held a variety of senior positions with Optus Corporation, Braxton Associates / Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group, the Loyalty Group and Warner Lambert.
He also serves as the Board Chair of the Canadian Marketing Association.
Donal Byrne; Co-founder & CEO
Donal is a co-founder of Hippopost. Donal’s integrated marketing background includes various client and agency roles within the technology and wireless communications industry.
Recently, with Research In Motion (the makers of the BlackBerry smart phone), Donal managed the Loyalty & Retention team. As part of his global mandate Donal was responsible for helping shape BlackBerry’s holistic post-sales experience, reducing Churn and creating incremental revenue opportunities for RIM and the over 400 wireless service providers that resell BlackBerry throughout the world. Prior to joining RIM, Donal held a various management positions with an XML-based email technology start up and within the traditional consumer packaged goods industry.
Bob Millar; Co-founder & COO
Bob is a co-founder of Hippopost and brings 20 years of direct and database marketing experience and a proven track record for development and deployment of marketing and sales systems critical to management and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for several leading technology firms.
Most recently Bob led Business Operations for Research In Motion’s Global Sales team. Focused on Strategic Account Management and Technical Support Services sales, Bob was responsible for building RIM’s current CRM environment. Closely related, Bob was also responsible for the redesign and development of a new eCommerce Order processing system consisting of both a customer facing webstore and an internal sales order desk. Prior to joining RIM Bob held management positions at MKS, a leading manufacturer of Software Change Management systems as well as at AT&T Canada.
Doug Sutherland; CTO
Doug is a product and technology strategist who grew up in the Internet world. Doug has been a principal in start-up companies, a senior executive in international companies, a consultant to small and larger organizations on process, product and technologies, and a sweat equity investor in several earlier-stage companies in Canada and the US. He has served on advisory boards, blogs and tweets passionately, and equally enjoys writing and reviewing business plans, or doing code reviews!
Today, Doug leads Hippopost’s technology undertakings, combining technology acumen with business best practices to deliver our unique technology-enabled social and online media solution, giving brands the opportunity to reach their potential consumers by allowing them to participate in the most unique blending of web, mobile, social, direct mail, loyalty and analytics.
Beau Douglas; Vice President, Sales & Business Development
Beau brings more than 20 years of sales and business development experience along with a proven track record of results. He has 15 years experience in the advertising, wireless and communication technology industries. Most recently Beau held the position of Vice President of Sales at Flipswap, Inc. a start up where he contributed significantly to the rapid growth of the company and the drive to VC funding in under three years.
Previously, Beau spent three years at T-Mobile USA, and three years as co-owner of Brightpath, Inc. Beau also spent six years operating a yacht, during which time he circumnavigated the globe.
